This option would take about two hours total, more or less. If you drive, the traffic will be tight leaving Milwaukee at 5 p.m. with a construction slowdown right at the state line, but you'd be okay driving into O'Hare on I-294, which doesn't take you into the city at all. Plan for about a 90-minute drive, and add the time to return your rental or park in long-term parking. There are shuttles in the lots to take you to the "people mover," which will get you to your terminal. You're probably looking at about 2.5 hours for this option, more or less. Saw someone doing that last year when I was returning fromMilwaukee. One thing to consider, though, is how you would return to Milwaukee. If your schedule allows, you could save time by taking Metra from Union Station to O'Hare Transfer-but those trains do not run frequently. Also, count on 1/2 hour, not 1 hour, to get from remote parking to the terminals at O'Hare. Report inappropriate content

Basically you have three hours to get to the airport, and unless there is some extreme weather issues or some type of major crash you would be fine. I am assuming you are from the Milwaukee area. If you take the train or the bus, you have to make sure that when you return you will be able to get back to Milwaukee, as neither of them may be available when you land. They're big and very comfortable and stop at everyairline. I'd take the earliest one possible in case there's a lot of traffic,and buy your tickets ahead so not to hold up line getting on the bus.
