Now a young man, his only companions are an elderly butler and his childhood friend, a buxom, blonde maid named Alice. Despite the fact that touching the duke means instant death, Alice is constantly teasing him, getting close and flirting mercilessly. But even though Alice loves to make the duke blush, her affection for him is the real deal. Can the two figure out a way to break the witch’s spell?

The Duke of Death and His Maid manga’s ending is in another six chapters according to the Sunday Web app, the publisher behind the popular manga series.

Currently, the manga is estimated to end in May of 2022 with Chapter 223 if it keeps its biweekly release schedule.

Serialized in Shogakukan’s Sunday Webry magazine app since October 2017, the weekly manga had over 227 chapters as of the time of writing and was collected into about 15 volumes with more on the way as of February 20th, 2022.

Is there any information on the second season of Duke of Death?

The Duke of Death and His Maid Season 2 anime TV series is currently in production. The second season was announced in September of 2021.

The anime sequel might premiere following the end of the series, as no concrete release date has as of yet been confirmed. The series, as mentioned before, was announced to have a continuation in September of 2021, so the series is probably in production currently — the typical anime production cycle takes around 8 months for a single episode, even in the land of CGI anime such as The Duke of Death and His Maid.

Is the series being cancelled?

Warning: This section will contain spoilers for the most recent chapter of The Duke of Death And His Maid.

Considering the current position of the manga, it’s unlikely that the series is being canceled by Sunday Webry. The Duke of Death is one of their flagship titles, and while sales may not have been exacerbated by the anime, fan events are still being held even in the anime offseason, suggesting that the series has lasting popularity that allows them to continue on.

Moreover, the series is at a natural point for a conclusion — the Duke finally completed his goal of being able to confess to his maid in Chapter 217, including a full-color wedding scene between the two. The editor’s account for the Duke of Death also fails to mention anything regarding the cancellation of the series, suggesting that this is not the case.

With most of the manga’s mysteries resolved, rather than a cancellation, it feels as if the series is wrapping itself up as it finishes the natural arcs for both the Duke and the maid in their journey to finally be able to touch one another.

The Duke of Death and His Maid Manga Ends in 6 Chapters (Updated)

posted on 2022-02-15 21:15 AEDT by Rafael Antonio Pineda

Manga launched in 2017, inspired TV anime in July 2021 with 2nd season planned

Is Duke of death and his maid manga over?
Shogakukan's Sunday Webry manga app revealed on Tuesday that Koharu Inoue's The Duke of Death and His Maid (Shinigami Bocchan to Kuro Maid) manga will end in six chapters. The manga will serialize a new chapter every other week, so if there are no delays, it will end in May.

The manga entered its climax with its 14th compiled book volume in November 2021.

Inoue launched the manga on Shogakukan's Sunday Webry web manga site in October 2017. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the manga in English, and it describes the manga:

When the duke was a young boy, a witch made it so that any living thing he touched died. Unable to cope with such a cursed child, his family sent him away to live in an old mansion. Can the two figure out a way to break the witch's spell?

The manga inspired a television anime that premiered in Japan in July 2021. Funimation streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. The anime will get a sequel. Funimation describes the sequel as a second season.

Update: The manga will end on May 17. Source: Sunday Webry
