How to take off airsoft glock slide

I had the same exact problem as you recently after buying my 19x. I nearly went crazy because the damn slide just wouldn't come off. But don't worry, there is nothing wrong with your GBB ^^

Just to be sure: Remove the mag, rack the slide completely back, let it come forward again. Now pull down the slide lock tabs and pull the slide forward. Doesn't work? ^^

The first thing that is a pain are the slide lock tabs. It seems nearly impossible to pull them down completely on both sides. After I finally managed to remove the slide, I discovered that you don't need to pull them down completely to unlock the slide. Just make sure they are even on both sides and as far down as possible, even about half way (but even!) should be ok.

Now the tricky part. Especially the first few times it is actually really hard to get the slide off. What really did it for me was to do it in a swift, even motion and also (this is the most important part) pull the slide up near the end. Don't be to hesitant, you'll need a bit of force and speed, especially the first few times. Just try it a few times, it WILL work!

On the real steel it is necessary to dry fire the Glock before slide removal. The trigger is fully back as the two tabs are pulled down.

However on video I have seen users of the WE version do this with the gun cocked - trigger all the way out.

Which is preferable with airsoft Glocks?

Or does it not really matter? Perhaps the instructions for the real firearm are to do with safety considerations rather than any mechanical issue.

What do you do?
