How to change suits in Batman: Arkham City PC

In Batman: Arkham City for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, there are a few different costumes you may have access to from pre-order bonuses and DLC, but how do you select them?

Any character you choose in Challenge Mode can wear alternate costumes you have access to when you start a match, but accessing costumes in Story Mode is a little different.

First, you have to beat the game on at least Normal difficulty. Beating the game on Easy difficulty doesn’t unlock New Game+ and doesn’t give you the option to wear alternate costumes. Once you beat the game on Normal, you should see the option to change costumes when continuing your story or when starting a New Game+.

Here is an alternate method to try if you haven’t beaten the game yet. At the main menu, press Left, Left, Down, Down, Left, Left, Right, Up, Up. When you continue your game, you should hear a chime to notify you that you’ve entered the code correctly.

It’s important to note that you won’t see the option if you don’t have any alternate costumes for Batman.

I just bought this 2 days ago. Found out you have to beat the game first. Then, you can use the syits in New Game+. I was kinda bummed out about it tbh. Seems silly not to just the llayer use them. Oh, well...it's still f****** amazing.

I rented this game when it first came out and beat the story so I can play new game + and I figured out how to do the costume change. My only problem is it's been so very long since I beat the game I'm having staying alive in combat in the new game + mode. I haven't even made it into the court house yet.

This is in the 'Cheats' section:

Play in any costume, even before finishing the game.

To unlock this, simply press the following combination on the Main Menu screen (after you have selected your save slot): - Left, Left, Down, Down, Left, Left, Right, Up, Up, Down. You will get an audio confirmation and when you continue your game, you will get the option to select your favorite skin.

I'm still afraid that using the cheat will disable achievements...lol. A few people have said it won't, but I'm skeptical.

doesn't stop achievements at all. Used the code as soon as I started the game and got achievements with no problem

Rocksteady gave the code out themselves. Stop being a pansy and use it.

It's a change of clothes. Why would it disable achivements?

I'm not mad, you're just too happy.

I can't believe a modern video game actually has an input-based cheat code. Why didn't they just charge $1 (or 80 MS points) to unlock the "Early Costume Changer" or something? That's what I would have done.

You can only change it in New Game+ or when you beat the normal story. You cannot change your costume in the regular campaign. Once you beat the game, every time you go in it will ask which costume you want.

  • I have beaten the story and it does not give me the option to change costumes when I load the campaign... It just loads the campaign. Am I missing a step?

  • OK, so I figured this stuff out. There aren't actually any costumes included in the PC version of Arkham City if you buy it over steam. They don't sell the Skins pack for batman on Steam either so I had to in a very roundabout way buy it from games for windows. Now that I bought it and installed it I get the option to change skins when choosing continue game.

I think the incredibly poor wording when you finish the game that costumes are unlocked is confusing a lot of people. Costumes are unlocked, if you have any. You don't get any for free with a vanilla version of the game.

  • You can only change costumes after you have completed the main story campaign and when you start a new game+ playing on hard or normal difficult. If you're playing on Easy you will not be able to change costumes in story mode. Also if you pick the animated or Year One outfits then catwoman will by default be in that costume as well.

  • In Story Mode you can only change Batman's costume. When you load your game it will ask you which costume you'd like to wear. Just pick your preferred outfit. Catwoman's costume (along with other DLC characters) can only be changed in the Riddler's Revenge missions

How do you change your suit in Arkham City PC?

Using the below cheat, you can select any alternative Batman skin and play them in the main game, without having to complete the full game. To unlock this, simply press the following combination on the Main Menu screen (after you have selected your save slot): Left, Left, Down, Down, Left, Left, Right, Up, Up, Down.
