How do you become a starter in my career 2K21?

Question

so in this game you call basketball, all people do is score points?people just stand around the hoop and whoever gets the ball can get a free shot?

or do you need to run, block, pass, steal, contest, not ask for every ball, run screens, dodge screens etc?

its called basketball, not sniper elitetry getting a+ grade during the game and win games as a team instead of carrying the team on your back.
because every point you score, takes away from the points a teammate can score (thats not special)

what makes you a starter early in your career is helping the team score more and the enemy score less.....
20 points is enough on sf/pf/sg/pg as long as you help your team score points
SCEEN every ball possesion and get an assist every 2 possesions
a contest or box out every enemy possesion
a block/steal every 5 enemy possesions
a rebound every 10 possesions (def or off)

thats what gets you starter, not outscoring your teammates and not scoring 20 times when you get the ball in your hands 20 times
