Where Is the Chatbox Located?

Before using the chatbox, you should know the location of the chatbox. By default, the chatbox is present on the bottom-left-hand corner of the screen.

How to Team Chat?

Chatting with your teammates is the easiest of both, as the default chat mode in valorant is the team mode. To send messages to your team, press Enter followed by your message inside any game mode. The Team chat mode will have the word "Team" as a prefix to all your messages.

How to All Chat?

To chat with your enemies, you must change the chatbox mode to "All." To do this, follow the steps given below.

Jump inside any game mode of your choice
After loading inside, press Shift + Enter or type /all in team mode to change your chat mode from team to All.
To confirm the change, check the starting or prefix tag of the chatbox, which should be titled "All."
If the mode has changed, type in your message & press Enter to send them.

You can tell which chat you’re currently typing into by looking at the words in brackets which precede your message. As you might expect, (Team) is a message to your side only, while (All) goes to the enemy team as well. (Broadcast) refers to the automatic messages played when a player requests a gun or buys one for another player.

It’s worth noting that if you want to say GG to the other side after a game of Valorant, you’ll need to be quick. Games close very quickly and when you’re on the scoreboard, it’s already too late. All the stats are displayed after disconnecting from the game, so wish the other side well before you get dropped out.

First and foremost, you can find all of your voice communications settings within your menu. When talking to your team, using voice communications is the quicker way of getting a message across than having to pause to type. The default push-to-talk keybind is 'V', but you can change this in your menu to whichever key suits you.

If you're not a fan of using voice communications for whatever reason, you can also turn them off entirely from your menu and use text in team chat instead. To do this, simply press 'Enter' while in game, and press 'Enter' again to send a message to your teammates.

How to Talk in All Chat

There's no way to communicate with the opposing team via voice communications, for obvious reasons. However, you can talk to them using text in all chat. To access this, there is a simple keyboard shortcut. To communicate with everyone rather than just your team, press 'Enter' and 'Shift' at the same time. Type your message, press 'Enter' again, and all ten players in the lobby will be able to see your message.
