How do celebrities get rid of cellulite?

Celebrities are widely recognized for bringing their fashion and beauty greatness to red carpets, photoshoots, events, and everyday outings. You might be surprised to learn what they do to ensure they look effortless at all times. And we’re not just talking about choosing the perfect outfits—starlets step up their fitness routines, diets and sometimes even undergo cosmetic procedures to get camera-ready. The last thing anyone wants is a camera flashing at her cellulite—but everyone’s got it, even Hollywood’s finest. Read on to learn how A-listers combat the dimples.

Jennifer Aniston

She has one of the most enviable bodies in Hollywood, with lean arms and defined legs. It's hard to believe she has a single dimple of cellulite, but it turns out she uses body wraps to prevent them.

Jennifer Lopez

Her infamous derriere is the result of a strict diet. She sought the help of Howard Murad, MD, who believes the best way to get rid of cellulite is to strengthen the skin with food. In an interview, he shared that Jennifer eats a lot of spinach, flaxseeds, citrus fruits, iceberg lettuce and olive oil. We're sure her dancing skills also contribute to the cause.

Kim Kardashian

Kim has never been shy about her cellulite, nor her desire to make it less visible. In a past episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim tried Velashape. The procedure employs vacuums and massages to target problem areas and can cost anywhere from $800 to $2400 per body part. She also relies on self-tanner to contour her body.

Miranda Kerr

Miranda swears by the dry body brushing technique. She told Vogue that she does it in the mornings because it "helps with circulation, lymphatic drainage and exfoliation" as well as the reduction of cellulite.

Gwyneth Paltrow

According to Us Weekly, Gwyneth's personal trainer Lauren Roxburgh designed two foam-roller exercises to help the actress banish cellulite. One targets the back of the thighs, and the other the inner thighs. Both need to be completed five times a week for the best results.

Cameron Diaz

She's another fan of Dr. Murad, who says she swears by vegetable soup and a lot of green tea. This would probably explain why Cameron wrote an entire book about healthy living.

Jessica Biel

Celebrity trainer Valerie Waters, who has trained Jessica as well as Jennifer Garner and Cindy Crawford, swears by fast-paced circuit work. She explained to Prevention that she also recommends eliminating processed foods.

Victoria's Secret Models

Makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez, who preps models for the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, shared a quick hack with Glamour: Clarins' Bodylift Cellulite Treatment (she notes it's not a quick fix but should be used over time). Another pro slimming tip? "Bronze, bronze, bronze!"

No matter the season, a toned bottom and smooth, sculpted thighs rank high on many women's most-wanted body wish lists.

But if you are one of those millions of women who suffer from the dreaded orange peel (aka cellulite) it can seem like an uphill battle to look good in shorts, let alone a skimpy swimsuit.

You are not alone though, some of the most photographed and beautiful women in the world also wage a constant war against lumpy legs, the latest being Kate Moss at the Louis Vuitton fashion show in Paris this month.

But the good news is that they are winning. The even greater news is that they are willing to share their secrets with you.

These celebrities all have something in common (apart from legs that are dimple free) - they have all taken on board advice from dermatologist to the stars, Dr Howard Murad.

Murad explains why women as skinny as Kate Moss can still get cellulite.

"Cellulite is not a fat problem," he says. "It's a skin cellular problem, you can have total liposuction and get rid of every bit of regular fat and still have cellulite - you can exercise till the cows come home, it isn't going to help."

Murad goes on to explain why his methods work such wonders, and how you too can get rid of cellulite, by eating foods that will help rid our bodies of lumps. "Foods rich in nutrients like lecithin, essential fatty acids, amino acids and antioxidants will reduce cellular inflammation, squeeze out excess fluids, and, most importantly, increase circulation which prevents cells from migrating to the surface and looking like cottage cheese," says Murad.

The key to beating cellulite, he says, is to strengthen the skin through the food we eat. Sounds easy? It is: which is why you won't see these stars showing anything but smooth skin in the northern hemisphere this summer.

Kate Moss takes her antioxidants in the form of white tea. She combines this with lecithin from eggs and soya and gains some essential fatty acids from nuts and seeds.

Jennifer Lopez loves spinach (lecithin), and claims to eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner when she needs to get her legs in shape. J Lo also loves flax seeds, citrus fruits, iceberg lettuce and olive oil, all essential to give her the full range of nutrients needed to combat cellulite.

Claudia Schiffer drinks in her lecithin from tomato juice and gets her antioxidants from green and herbal teas. Claudia eats lots of citrus fruit and makes sure to eat enough essential fatty acids by dining on avocados and salmon.

Cameron Diaz whips up a homemade vegetable soup which contains some of the most important foods on Murad's list. Adding pulses to her diet is a winner for her and she also drinks a lot of green tea.

Jennifer Aniston makes a point of eating lots and lots of essential fatty acids in the form of nuts, seeds, canola oil and fresh tuna. She eats cauliflower and eggs for lecithin.

These stars have created their own dimple-busting regime with foods that they love, and you can do the same. This A-list diet, based on Murad's findings, will make you want to show your thighs to the world in four weeks, and you could lose half a stone into the bargain.

Try following the suggested meal plan for four weeks or choose foods from the 'good' list below and avoid the ones from the 'bad', and you will be on your way to show off your smooth skin next summer.
