Here’s our complete Elden Ring soft caps guide. Learn about what the soft cap is in Elden Ring and what you should do once you hit it. Show FromSoftware games tend to have various soft caps that stop the player from putting points into one stat excessively and becoming too strong. If you keep leveling your strength stat, you’ll hit the soft cap after a while and your stats won’t increase as much as they normally do. The same can be said about the latest release, Elden Ring. That is why this guide will explain the Elden Ring softcap so that you are familiar with it. Elden Ring Soft CapsElden RIng is much more forgiving when it comes to soft caps. Here is a list of when stats start becoming soft-capped:
If you are curious to know what exactly the soft cap does and what you should do once you hit it, continue reading to find out. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the Elden Ring soft cap guide. What is a Soft Cap in Elden Ring? Before we talk about each of the stats, let’s find out what a soft cap is and what it does exactly. After players hit a soft cap, they will not receive the attributes that they did previously by upgrading their stats. If you were getting +10 attributes, now, you’ll get around 5 or 6 depending on which soft cap you hit. All FromSoftware games have this mechanic but Elden Ring gives a bit of leeway to the players. This allows you to complete your builds at a higher level and have stronger stats than previous Souls games. However, once you reach level 99, you will hit a hard cap. This is where you will not gain any benefits even if you upgrade your stats. This is done to prevent players from spamming points into one stat and becoming too strong for the game to handle. VigorLeveling the Vigor stat will allow you to increase your HP. This, in turn, allows you to take more damage without dying. If you want to play aggressively, leveling the Vigor stat will greatly help you. With that said, here are the soft caps for it:
MindThe Mind stat will increase your mana pool, allowing you to cast more spells and use more magic. If you are a magic-user, leveling this stat is a must. Here are the soft caps for it:
EnduranceThe Endurance stat will help you increase your stamina. Not only that, but it also assists you in increasing your equipment load so that you do not become over-encumbered after carrying a few items. Here are the soft and hard caps for Endurance:
StrengthStrength will allow you to wield colossal and large weapons that deal a lot of damage. It also increases your overall damage, allowing you to take out enemies quickly and easily. Here are the caps for it:
DexterityThis stat is similar to strength, and it allows you to equip Dex-based weapons that are usually swift and deal a good amount of damage. Plus, it also increases your damage as well. Here are the soft caps for this stat:
IntelligenceIntelligence is your go-to stat if you want to excel in using sorceries and other magic weapons. It will also increase your resistance to various magic attacks as well. Here are all the caps for this stat:
FaithLike Dexterity, Faith is the second stat you can use to increase your magic prowess. There are tons of Faith-based weapons in Elden Ring that require a certain amount of points into the Faith stat so you can use them effectively. Much like Dexterity, the Faith stat soft caps at the following levels:
ArcaneArcane is the luck stat that was found in previous Souls games. Leveling it up will allow you to discover more items easily. Plus, you’ll get more Runes as well after defeating various enemies. Since this is a new stat – and a pretty unique one – we do not have the exact stat loss that happens after you hit a soft cap. However, here are all the levels where you will hit a soft cap and a hard cap when leveling this stat: What should my max vigor be Elden Ring? The general consensus is to have 35-40 Vigor by the time you reach Mountaintops of the Giants, to not die in one hit, then 50+ Vigor by the end of the game. Player skill and different playstyles can allow players to get by with a lower amount.
Is vigor old 40 Elden Ring worth leveling? At 40 Vigor it's a lot harder for normal open world enemies to outright kill you without a fight. More importantly, 40 gives you a good base to take on some of Elden Ring's tougher bosses without getting one-shot killed.
Should I stop leveling after 150 Elden Ring?At the time of writing, the "meta level" for PvP duels in Elden Ring is considered 125, and it is recommended that players stop leveling there for now.
