Show ExploreTactical FreerideA perennial favorite of magazine testers and professional skiers alike and known for its stable, powerful feel, the new Ripstick 96 Black Edition is ready to over-deliver on their promise to skiers looking for the ultimate, all-condition freeride ski. Ripstick 96 Black Edition exhibits an uncanny blend of versatility and stability to conquer any conditions the mountain has to offer. On hardpack, it performs smooth and confident like an all-mountain ski, while in soft snow, it floats and slashes like a big-mountain ski. The Tubelite Woodcore, featuring, two carbon rods following the sidecut has been enhanced with new QuadRod Technology; two additional carbon rods located in the tip and tail, for elite power transmission with a balanced feel. Carbon Line, a mesh carbon weave located along the inside edges of the tip and tail is bonded by an additional layer of carbon under the binding for superior smoothness and promotes a natural flex pattern for intuitive power transfer with ease. Both technologies amplify our asymmetrical Amphibio profile to bring exceptional edge grip and maneuverability to our most versatile shape. All the tech is wrapped in a tactical looking black-on-black camo wrap, giving this all-terrain weapon a sophisticated, stealthy, look and feel. Key Characteristics

Amphibio Carbon Line technology elevates the asymmetrical ski design to the next level by strategically locating carbon reinforcement over the inside edges of the skis providing more power in the turn, while carbon rods inserted into the woodcore maximize weight savings and overall stability. The end result is an extremely lightweight high performance ski with uncompromised versatility and smooth performance. Amphibio ProfileAmphibio technology is a revolutionary ski design that integrates both rocker and camber profiles into dedicated left and right skis. Amphibio skis feature a cambered inside edge assuring precision, edge grip and stability - while a rockered outside edge provides forgiveness, turning ease and smooth transitions. SST ConstructionThe SST Construction provides quick, nimble and direct power transmission from the ski to snow as well as providing exceptional torsional rigidity. TubeLite WoodcoreTo create the TubeLite Woodcore, two super lightweight Carbon tubes are inserted into a lightweight laminated wood core. These tubes run the length of the ski following the arc of the side cut. They provide torsional stability and powerful rebound while allowing for material reduction of the core. The result is incredible lightweight response and stability. 100% Recycled VaporTip ReinforcementMaking a difference in sustainability is the motor of every process and using 100% recycled materials in the components of our products is an approach we take to reduce waste. Completely recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET), the main ingredient in plastic bottles, is processed into high-performance foam materials that are light, strong, and used in our VaporTip reinforcement.
QuadRod ReinforcementExpanded upon its TubeLite Woodcore, which features two full-length carbon rods placed in the core, adjacent to the edges and the shape of the sidecut, by adding two additional carbon rods to the center of the ski, one in the tip and one in the tail, resulting in QuadRod Technology. It delivers next level smoothness and grip, with a natural flex pattern for the perfect blend of playful, yet powerful performance. Are Elan Ripsticks good?We awarded it a Best Buy Award for its great price and excellent performance in powder, but its skills are not found only in one type of terrain. It was also the most playful ski we found this year, and that quality transferred all over the mountain.
How much does the Elan Ripstick weigh? At a 3.3kg per pair total weight, the Elan Ripstick 96 are light for such a good and wide all mountain ski, if using a good lightweight pin tech touring binding they are certainly light enough for use as a ski touring ski and the tail has a profile designed to work with ski skins.

Account.. What size is an Elan Ripstick? To determine your size, simply flip a ski pole over, grab it under the basket, and place the handle on the ground. If you're holding the right size pole, you'll notice that your elbow forms a perfect 90 degree angle between your bicep and forearm. If the pole is too long, then your forearm will be angled slightly up.
