Top reviews from other countries5.0 out of 5 stars A charming and fantastic series and a must for any fan. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 February 2019 Verified Purchase Despite me being a fan all my life of Dragon Ball Z and the wonderful cast of characters, I never got to see where it all started and decided to change that. I saw the 3 in 1’s as an opportunity to see the beginning of the series and since it moves into Z I figured I'll experience the series in a way I never had through the mangas and probably save time ignoring the several hours of filler in Z. I've seen all of Z and Super and have been following the mangas for Super but I must say, I prefer this, there's just a certain charm to this, it's comical, creative, has a wonderful cast and so much more. I feel the story is more laid back and fun as opposed to what I've read in Super which is more serious and not fun but about action, or that's my opinion at least, perhaps it's a change of the times or just a change in the series, either way I look forward to going through the series completely. Personally it's great to see these characters who have very little importance in Z and Super actually matter here (granted it's the beginning but still), it was fun meeting Yamcha and others and how they interacted, I can easily say I had a smile or a grin on my face almost the entire time I was reading this manga. This is truly something special and no shock as to why it was such a huge success. I will say, if you are a parent unfamiliar with the series I'm not sure if this is something appropriate for young children, with naughty humor and a small number of panels with vague nudity and some language. Otherwise something I would highly recommend. In these 3 volumes we go from Bulma and Goku meeting to the early stages of the Budokai Tenkaichi tournament. Along the way me meet, Oolong, Yamcha and Puar, Ox King, Chi Chi, Pilaf gang, Master Roshi and more, a very satisfying read that doesn't take too long to be honest. I do have one small gripe though, the cover art gallery, I don't understand why it's saved till the end, I would've much preferred them between chapters showcasing the cover arts while giving readers a place to stop if they want. It's small and petty but overall this is a must for any fan of Dragon Ball. Hopefully you found this review helpful and happy reading. 5.0 out of 5 stars A charming and fantastic series and a must for any fan.
