If for some reason you don’t have a Social Security Number (SSN) or you don’t want to provide one, it’s still possible to use Cash App. However, you’ll have a limited account until you verify it by, among other things, providing the last four digits of your SSN.

If you don’t even have an SSN, I’ll show you how to get it or which debit cards without SSN are the best. You can use one of these debit cards to connect to your Cash App account.

What Are The Cash App Account Limits

If you don’t have a verified Cash App account, you’ll have some limits imposed on your account. In the US, the limits for sending and receiving are up to $1,000 within any 30 days. And in the UK, the limit is £250 per week to send and £500 to receive money.

As you can see, the limits aren’t too bad, especially if you aren’t intending to use the Cash app to receive your paycheck. We don’t recommend it for that purpose anyway as there are many, and I mean many, better solutions on the market.

However, if the monthly limit of $1,000 isn’t enough for you, you can increase them easily. For that, however, you’ll need a valid SSN.

How to Check Your Cash App Limits

To see what your actual account limits are, merely open the Cash App and tap on the balance icon ($). Here, you’ll be presented with the Limits menu. When you enter it, you’ll find your send and receive limits, and how much you can add or cash out.

How to Increase Cash App Limits

To raise your Cash App limits, you’ll have to verify your account by giving your DOB, full name, and, yes, the last four digits of your Social Security Number.

This is also needed to get the Cash Card, as you can’t apply for one unless you verify your account.

I have to warn you that you might have to supply further information if Block (Cash App’s owner) can’t verify it using the above info. It’s standard procedure, though and the app isn’t special in this regard.

There’s also the blue verification badge that’s reserved for brands, public figures, celebrities, and other accounts of public interest. The badge helps you distinguish between real accounts and scammers, for instance.

What Can You Do With Cash App

With tens of millions of users in the United States, you might be wondering what’s so special about Cash App. Once you have some money in the app account, you can:

  • Send and receive money to/from friends
  • Pay for stuff online or in-store
  • Buy and sell stocks
  • Buy and sell Bitcoin

This last part, trading Bitcoin, is one of the most popular parts of the app since it was introduced a couple of years ago.

What Cards Does Cash App Support?

Cash App supports all major debit and credit cards. Including the ones from Mastercard,  Visa, American Express, and Discover.

Most prepaid cards are also supported, but depositing to these cards does not work. That’s important to note for the lower part of this article where we recommend debit cards without SSN.

At this time, Cash App doesn’t support PayPal, ATM cards, and business debit cards.

However, you might not be able to deposit money to the debit card and just use it to connect to the app and to top up your Cash App so you can send money to friends and family.

Anyway, here are three of the best prepaid debit cards that you can connect to Cash App that don’t require SSN.

What is SSN And How Can I Get One?

SSN stands for social security number and is a nine-digit numeral that all US citizens are given after birth and that immigrant residents are qualified to obtain under specific circumstances.

The US government uses it to follow your earnings and to establish your social security benefits.

How to Apply For It (As An Immigrant)?

Before even coming to the United States, you can apply in your home country when applying for an immigrant visa with the US Department of State.

If you apply for an SSN with your immigrant visa application, you might not have to visit a Social Security office in the US.

You also may qualify for an SSN without recognizing it. Non-citizens that are authorized to work in the US by the Department of Homeland Security can qualify for an SSN, as can non-citizens under some other occasions.
