  • Macca’s® main corporate office is located in Thornleigh New South Wales with regional corporate offices located in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

    Our corporate offices provide support, systems and processes to our restaurants and our Franchisees; from the design and construction of new restaurants to the creation of our latest promotional products.
    To provide this support, we regularly look for talented individuals to fill positions within the various departments of our corporate offices including:

    • Development & Supply Chain - includes our Design, Construction, Real Estate, Workplace Safety, Supply Chain, Product Development and Quality Assurance teams.
    • Information Technology - includes our Restaurant IT Solutions, Corporate Solutions and our IT Project Management teams.
    • Marketing - includes the Brand and Strategy, Media and Sponsorship as well as the State Marketing teams.
    • Operations Management & Restaurant Solutions Group - includes the Field Service Team (Franchise restaurants), the McOpCo Team (McDonald’s Operating Company restaurants), and the Operations Development, Training and Measurement teams.
    • Human Resources & Corporate Communications - includes the Human Resources and Corporate Services Teams. Corporate Communications are responsible for both the Public Relations and Internal Communications within McDonald’s.
    • Finance - includes the Operations Finance and Corporate Finance teams.
    • Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) - includes National RMHC House Development, National Learning Program Management, Fundraising and Communications.
    • Legal – includes our team responsible for understanding the law as it applies to McDonald’s and the identification and resolution of legal issues.

  • It is a legal requirement that all employees have the right to work in Australia. If you are selected for an interview, you will need to demonstrate your right to work in Australia by providing an original of one of the following documents:

    • Australian Passport
    • Australian Citizenship Certificate and photo ID
    • Certificate of Evidence of Australian Citizenship and photo ID
    • Australian Birth Certificate (for people born after 20th August 1986, the birth certificate must show that at least one parent was born in Australia. If it does not, you will also be required to provide evidence that at least one parent was a current Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident at the time of your birth) and photo ID

Crew provide an exceptional customer experience which includes delivering exceptional quality, service and cleanliness (QSC) to all guests. We understand that everyone should be able to work with their strengths, and at Macca’s®, we like to provide you with the opportunity to earn your money the way you want! So whether you like putting a smile on people’s dial, building delicious burgers, or making a mean macchiato, we have a role that will work for you! Crew are trained and verified to work in the Front Counter, Customer Areas, Kitchen, Drive-Thru or McCafe areas of the restaurant.

If you like working with your hands and looking after all the internal and external areas of the restaurant, the maintenance role is for you. You need to be organised, have a keen eye for cleanliness as you will be responsible for janitorial duties, cleaning restaurant equipment, minor maintenance responsibilities and maintaining the restaurant surrounds.

Crew have the opportunity to develop and progress into the Crew Coach position. The Crew Coach provides guidance and direction to fellow Crew and utilises all policies and procedures to provide the best quality coaching, to ensure outstanding delivery of QSC, under the supervision of the Shift Manager.

The first step in the McDonald’s management journey is to become a Shift Manager. Shift Managers are operations experts and run shifts delivering outstanding QSC at all times. Shift Managers supervise employees to ensure restaurant operations and procedures are adhered to and ensure the delivery of an exceptional and memorable Macca’s® experience.

Department Manager & Assistant Restaurant Manager

In addition to delivering outstanding QSC every shift, Department Managers and Assistant Restaurant Managers have an additional responsibility of leading a team as either a Customer Experience, People Performance or Product Quality Manager.

The Restaurant Manager is the leader of the restaurant, and is responsible for the overall profitability, sales, people development and operations of the restaurant. The Restaurant Manager works closely with their management team to coordinate the functions and systems that are critical to business success.

Our Restaurants

We have over 1020 restaurants in Australia so there are some things that will be different from restaurant to restaurant. Some of our restaurants are owned and operated by local Licensees, whilst others are operated by McDonald’s Australia.

What qualifications do I need to work at McDonalds?

You do not need any qualifications to get a job here.

Can I work at Maccas at 13?

Generally, McDonalds will employ staff from the age of 15.

Can I work at McDonalds at 14?

No you cannot. Can you work here age 14? You have to be age 16, and have finished high school.

What is McDonalds safety policy?

Each store has a dedicated safety manager to ensure all protocols are followed by employees such as wearing of masks and/or face shields, use of gloves, daily submission of health check forms, temperature checks before and after every shift, and increased handwashing frequency to every 30 minutes, among others.
