Can you play the same Minecraft world on different devices Java

Hey everyone. I play Minecraft on my Xbox One, and I just downloaded it in my phone as well. I was hoping to play on the same world I play on my Xbox, but I don't really know how. I understand the Better Together update says you can start a world on one device and then pick it back up on another but how exactly do I do that? Thanks!

Can you play the same Minecraft world on different devices Java

The game doesn't have automatic cross-platform saves, but you can use Realms to access the same world on multiple devices.

Create a Realm (there is a free 30 day trial available for new subscribers) and upload your existing world to it (Realm Settings → Game → Replace World). You will be able to access your Realm on your other device and even download a local copy of the world.

Aw man, that sucks! I'll probably do it when I have the stable income. How much is it monthly?

level 1

Afaik, there is no such cross-platform support. You could try Realms?

level 2

Ehhhhh, yeah, that's what I figured.

If you have a Windows or Linux computer available, you could try self-hosting your own server: Bedrock Dedicated Server.

I know that the new Minecraft on Windows is cross platform. I can play on Xbox and have a friend who's on his laptop join and another on his phone join as well.

My question is, if I created a world on the Xbox, is it possible that I continue playing that same world on my phone after I turn off the Xbox? I don't see any save file on the Xbox that I can copy or move.

According to the Better Together update recently launched, it looks like you can use the same world on different devices as you describe it. Microsoft did a news release on this that indicates what you say you want to do is possible.

From what I know, you will probably need an Xbox live account to do this. I read this somewhere on Minecraft's official website.

Please tell me if this helped you. If it didn't, I'll do more research and edit this post.

The best I could find is a world transfer from phone to PC:

But from some research done online it doesn't look like you can do what you asked.

Can you play the same Minecraft world on different devices Java

Hi, everyone. I created a world on my mac at school, then went home to work on the world at home on a windows laptop and my world was not listed.  I signed in with the same account as I did in my class.  Shouldn't the worlds be saved no matter what machine you sign into???  Thanks for the help.

Stephen is correct. Antonio we do not have any cloud-based storage.

    Thanks!

Hi Antonio, the worlds are saved to the particular device you are using, and are not stored on your account as such. The current way around all of this is to 'export' your world somewhere accessible to all devices when finished on one device, and then import it on the second device to use it there.

    I hope that helps.

If they are in their own world, no, I don't believe there is, if they are in a collaborative world, that setting should only be able to be adjusted by the host of that world.

    Hello Harry Ceccato

Thanks for reaching out to us! Great question! So whichever worlds you have are stored in the game on that specific device. You can go into the game and look at your worlds and export them as an .mcworld file. This file you can save to whichever type of device, storage medium you would like to. Then you can transfer it to another device and import the world into that copy of Minecraft: Education Edition.

Here are the step by step instructions for you: https://educommunity.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360047555391-Importing-and-Exporting-Your-Worlds-

To get the worlds on your mac exported, you will need to log into the game. Also note that Bedrock/Java worlds can not be imported into Minecraft: Education Edition

Can I play my Minecraft world on a different computer?

First, players will need to open the game and go to the settings of the world they want to transfer. Once they click the edit button and are in the settings, scroll down and click 'Export World. ' Players can export the world on their external drive to transfer it to any computer.

Do Minecraft worlds carry over devices?

Bedrock is a simple app with a simple concept: It syncs your Minecraft worlds across devices. To do this, Bedrock makes use of your Google Drive account to upload your worlds to the cloud. Once you're logged in, on any Android device, you can upload, download, and sync worlds with the touch of a button.

Can Minecraft Java play with multiple computers?

Yes, you can play Minecraft on as many computers as you want as long as you are logged in to your Mojang account and only playing one at a time. Hope this answers your question.
