I have one in my garage, but is is it worth upgrading it? Will I be able to use it just like any of my purchased vehicles?

I forget if you can bring high-end cars into your garage. I'm thinking no. But the sure-fire way to test is to take it to the Pay and Spray. If it's a high-end, you'll get a message that the car is too hot. If it's a car you can keep, you'll drive it right in.

If you want to keep it, make sure the very first thing you put on it is insurance. Without that, you'll never get it back if it's destroyed.

There are 10 types of people in the world. Those that know binary, and those that don't.

Putting it in your garage has the exact same effect as putting in a tracker... which means you're able to keep it. Put insurance on it and upgrade it all you want. It's yours now.

VexNoFace likes it rough.

It depends on the car. Some of the better cars for racing can be stolen off the street. The Dominator (newer Mustang) was the king of the Muscle class for awhile. Now it's the Sabre Turbo (once you upgrade it at Benny's). Likewise the Schafter ruled the Sedans class until its V12 cousin became available for purchase. Street cars can definitely be worth upgrading and having around.

General census is anything that isn't on the luxury auto website or <$100,000 is able to be kept.

When in fear, drop a gear and disappear.

I stole a Schyster Fusilade, a vehicle in the Sports catagory, pulled it up to my garage expecting to get the message telling me that I needed to buy that type of vehicle, but it didn't. I'm a little confused. I've tried this with other cars in the same category and it didn't work. I was under the impression that super cars and sports cars were off limits. That you had to buy them. Are there certain cars and those classes that you can steal and make personal vehicles? Sorry if this has already been discussed.

There are 4 sports i can think of that you can keep off the street:
Fusilade, Sultan, Buffulo, and Futo. there may be even more

Also there is 1 sedan (super diamond) and 1 coupe (exemplar) that must be bought online.

Super is the only "online only" class

I don't get this whole thing. If I stole a car, I should be able to mod it, respray it, and keep it. That was the whole point of stealing it. Plus, some of the cars are way too high (one of the ones I want is like $715,000, which the closest I will have to that amount is the stimulus package that won't last long).

That's... the point. If you could just keep stolen Adders and Entities, every noob and their moms would have one.

I worked for my Adder. Don't want level 2s to be able to get one just by driving it into their little $25k 2-car garage.

There's also the Ocelot f620, which is arguably the best of the bunch. It seems to be a rare spawn though. Not sure what, if anything, triggers them to show up.

Agreed, it is nice that they are making people work for the nicer cars. I think it is fine, I am very happy with my Mustang ripoff.

Cars that cost 100k or more to buy can't be stolen and kept like that. If you can sell the car to LSC, you can steal it for yourself.

You can't store/keep premium vehicles, aka cars 100k+ retail. If it is less than 100k retail, you can keep it. It has to do with the price, not the class.

You do if you're not a glitcher/exploiter. According to the game's laws, you do have to.

Can you keep stolen cars in GTA 5?

Yes, you can save and protect a car in GTA 5 Online! Here's how: Bring your stolen car to Los Santos Customs. In the menu, find Loss and Theft Protection.

Can you steal a car and make it yours in GTA 5 Online?

If they're not insured, they're gone. Keep in mind that some vehicles, like those that cost over $100,000 are considered too hot to steal for personal use—the only way to make them yours is to buy them. Insuring your cars in GTA V is just as important as insuring your cars in real life.

What can you do with stolen cars in GTA 5?

Most of the cars in GTA Online can be sold at any Los Santos Customs location. However, there is a catch – stolen personal vehicles cannot be sold through Los Santos Customs, and cars worth more than $50,000 will not be accepted as well.
