While Spotify's far from the only streaming service available, it is the one that most people gravitate towards. It's been around for ages, has a huge library of music, and unmatched personalization. It's also safe to say that most people you know probably use Spotify.

Like any popular service, Spotify gift cards are readily available in most stores. Alongside gift cards for Amazon, Roblox, Netflix, etc., also present are ones for Spotify. And like any gift card, Spotify gift cards are easy to use. You get the gift card from someone, enter its information online, and immediately get a few free months of Spotify streaming. It's a simple enough process on paper, but what does the redemption process actually look like?

Redeeming a Spotify gift card takes all but a few seconds of your time. Open a web browser (either on your phone or computer) and visit 'spotify.com/redeem.' If you haven't already, scratch off the film on the back of the gift card covering the PIN. Enter that PIN on the Spotify website, and click the green 'Continue' button. That's all there is to it! The biggest thing to remember is that you cannot redeem Spotify gift cards in the Spotify app on your smartphone. If you have a Spotify gift card and want to redeem it, you must visit that Spotify website from a web browser.

How Spotify Gift Cards Work

While redeeming a Spotify gift card is easy, there are a few things to know about how the gift cards work. Firstly, you can't choose when you want to use the gift card. As soon as you redeem it, the Spotify gift card balance is immediately applied to your next Spotify Premium bill. If you have a Spotify gift card but want to use it at a later date, hold off on redeeming it until you're ready. Just make sure not to wait too long. Spotify gift cards expire after 12 months from the date they were purchased.

But that's not the most annoying restriction. Spotify gift cards can only be used to pay for Spotify Premium Individual plans. If you're subscribed to Spotify Premium Family, Premium Duo, or Premium Student, the gift card simply will not work. If you're subscribed to a Premium plan that's not the Individual one, you might as well see if you can give the gift card to someone you know who can use it.

By using a Spotify Gift Card, eGift Card, eCard, Premium Code, or PIN (the "Card"), you accept the following:

The Spotify Terms and Conditions of Use may include terms and conditions in respect of the collection and use of personal data, general provisions regarding the services offered by Spotify, choice of law, mandatory arbitration (where applicable) and venue.
2. The Card is redeemable for full price standalone Premium subscription months only and cannot be redeemed for discounted or group subscriptions (such as student discounts, trial offers, Premium for families, or offers combining Premium with other companies' products or services).
3. The Card cannot be redeemed for cash or credit and cannot be returned or resold (except where required by law).
4. In order to redeem the Card, you must have or register for a Spotify account in the country where the Card was purchased. In order to use or register for a Spotify account you must comply with the applicable age requirements set out in the Spotify Terms and Conditions of Use.

6. The Card must be redeemed within 12 months of the date of purchase, after which date the PIN will expire and the Card cannot be used for purchase.
7. The Card is a single-use card: the full face-value for an individual account is deducted at redemption and no incremental redemption or credit is permitted.
8. Spotify, its officers, shareholders, employees, agents, directors, subsidiaries, affiliates, successors, assigns, suppliers, and licensors are not responsible for any loss or damage resulting from lost, stolen, or fraudulently obtained Cards or their unauthorized use.
9. The Card is provided by Spotify AB, registration number 556703-7485, with the address Regeringsgatan 19, 111 53 Stockholm, Sweden ("Spotify").
10. In the event of any inconsistency or conflict between these Card Terms and any terms and conditions printed on any Card, these Card Terms shall prevail.
