One person found this helpful Top critical review3.0 out of 5 starsAlot different in size and taste. Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on December 26, 2020 The boxes are half the size smaller than they use to be for the price to be higher. And seems something was taken from the flavor. Not as tasty. 1,784 total ratings, 77 with reviews There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 31, 2021 Box is clearly old. probably sitting in someone’s kitchen cabinet for a long time, maybe even years .. i dont know. But the main reason I’m putting a one star is because they put a sticker over the real ‘best if used by’ marking with a new sticker that says 2/1/2022. And when attempt to remove the sticker it messes up the cardboard underneath so cant see the real date. see pics. which is really uncool. Overt attempt to hide when this cake was made. they also put sticker over the bar code and put a new sticker with a new bar code. totally uncool. and therefore i dont know if i should eat this or not. I’m going to return it. 1.0 out of 5 stars This seller hides the real bar

How do you make a box red velvet cake better?Boxed red velvet cake mix doesn't have to taste “boxed.” Simple swaps like butter instead of oil and buttermilk instead of water can take your cake to the next level. To enhance the flavor, you can also add espresso powder and other mix-ins, like coconut and pretzels.
What does red velvet cake mix taste like?Red velvet cake tastes like very mild cocoa with a slightly tart edge. The cream cheese frosting is the most forward flavor.
What's the difference between red velvet cake mix and chocolate cake mix?Red velvet cake has less cocoa powder added to it so the chocolate flavor is much more mild. Both our chocolate cake and red velvet cake use buttermilk, but buttermilk is a required ingredient for red velvet cake. It also has vinegar and red food coloring added to it to add acidity and the classic red coloring.
