DirectionsStep 1: How to Wrap Chicken in BaconLay boneless, skinless chicken breast on top of the bacon and start wrapping. In a small bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice and the chopped apples; set aside while you wrap the chicken in bacon. Meanwhile, prepare your chicken by placing each chicken breast on top of the strips of bacon; 3 pieces of bacon per chicken breast. Wrap the bacon around each chicken breast and place inside the crock pot with the seam side of the bacon on the bottom. Step 2: How to Long to Cook Chicken in the Crock PotCover the chicken with the barbecue sauce and apple mixture and cook on low four to six hours or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees. My crock pot cooks fast, so usually after 4 hours, I check to see if the chicken is done. If you overcook the chicken, it can get dry, so check it after a few hours. Remove the chicken from the crock pot and place on a platter. Pour the liquid through a sieve and you'll get a really nice sauce with the apples that you can drizzle on top of the chicken and serve on the side. The apples add a really nice flavor to the barbecue sauce. Step 3: What to Serve with Crock Pot ChickenI like to serve twice baked potatoes with roasted asparagus with this chicken recipe. Another great side dish to serve with this crock pot chicken recipe is mashed potatoes or mac and cheese. Can You Put Frozen Chicken in the Crock PotThe answer is yes! Because life is not perfect, I often forget to defrost the chicken that I want to use for dinner and have cooked frozen chicken many times in the crock pot. The important thing to remember, is to make sure the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees. Also, it may take longer for the chicken to cook. Depending on your crock pot, you may need to add up to two extra hours to the cooking time. Prep Time 15 minutes Cook Time 4 hours Total Time 4 hours 15 minutes Ingredients

Slow cookers and Crock-Pots are designed to cook raw meats. The direct heat from the pot, lengthy cooking time and steam created from the tightly covered container destroys bacteria, making slow cooking safe. You can put frozen chicken in a slow cooker, too!
Will BBQ sauce burn in a slow cooker? Will BBQ sauce burn in the crockpot? No, it won't burn as long as it's mixed with another liquid like broth or water. If the sauce is poured directly over the meat, it can burn if it's not combined with another liquid.
Should chicken be covered in liquid in slow cooker?Pour water over the chicken breasts so that it just barely covers them. Sprinkle the chicken breasts with plenty of salt and pepper. Cover your crock pot and cook chicken breasts on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. Chicken is done when the internal temp reaches 165 degrees F.
Is it better to cook chicken on high or low in slow cooker?Always cook your boneless skinless chicken breasts on LOW for the best results. I do not recommend cooking boneless chicken breast on HIGH, as it will become very dry, even if you check it early. On high, the chicken turns out drier; I consistently have the best results with low.
