The Cooly Rocks On festival is the biggest 50s and 60s nostalgia festival in Australia featuring Rock 'n roll, Rockabilly, Swing music and over 1,000 hot rods, custom cars and classic vehicles lining the stunning beachfront of Coolangatta and Tweed Heads. Show Browse through over 100 retro market stalls and 100 craft market stalls and take your taste buds back to the 50s and 60s with vintage styled food. Music fills the venues as the festival builds, culminating in a Grand Finale weekend where the streets are closed down, the outdoor stages are moved in and the streets come alive with street parades, shows, displays, competitions and over 1,000 cars parading from Kirra to Tweed Heads each evening. The Minnesota Street Rod Association’s “Back to the ’50s Weekend” will be back at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds the weekend of June 18-20. The vintage vehicle event was canceled in 2020 because of COVID. The show brings more than 12,000 street rods, customs, classics and restored vehicles, all dating from 1964 and earlier, to the Fairgrounds. All guests will be required to wear face masks. Events include concerts, a swap meet and a craft fair, with more than 300 vendors on the grounds. Hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets at the door are $12 for adults; kids 15 and under are free with each paid adult. Advance adult discount tickets for $2 off are available at participating NAPA Auto Parts.
