Average 40 yard dash time by age girl

Average 40 yard dash time by age girl

Answer by  joeaustin (6)

i believe 6 seconds depending on the athletic build and pace of the girl in question.for a slightly heavier person i believe 6.5 to 7 seconds may be appropriate. a dash is also all about pace so the probability of her increasing the pace to gain advantage over a close competitor can result in an early time of probably 5.5.

An average recreational time for a female in the 40 yard (or 36.58 meters) dash is approximately 5.8 seconds. A good time for a girl would be anything under 5 seconds. Without factoring in age, it would be difficult to come up with an average time, however, an average for adult females would be 5.8 seconds.

well depending on the terrain, i would guess 5.4 sec just because i have personally experienced the difference between concrete, the surface of artificial turf, and good old grass services.

a 5. 0 is fast. I am one of the fastest and i run it in 5 flat. on a very good day i can run 4. 9. but 4. 35 is about the speed of a professional football player. And a fast 17 year old guy runs a 4. 7.

Answer by  mani (813)

For a girl around the age of fourteen, it wiil be better if she runs within 5 sec to 6 sec. Anyone who says they run a 4. 35 or under 4. 7 is false unless she runs really fast

I'm in 7th grade and weight 50.3kg, is 5.8 fast for me? I was the fastest of my group, but compared to the average 12 year old, is it slow?

Sprint or speed tests can be performed over varying distances, depending on the factors being tested and the relevance to the sport. The 40 Yard (36.6 meters) Dash is part of the SPARQ rating system for football, and their protocol is listed here.

purpose: The aim of this test is to determine acceleration, and also a reliable indicator of speed, agility and quickness.

equipment required: measuring tape or marked track, stopwatch or timing gates, cone markers, flat and unobstructed grass, track, or turf surface of at least 60 yards.

pre-test: Explain the test procedures to the subject. Perform screening of health risks and obtain informed consent. Prepare forms and record basic information such as age, height, body weight, gender, test conditions. Measure and mark out the test area. Perform an appropriate warm up. See more details of pre-test procedures.

procedure: The test involves running a single maximum sprint over 40 yards, with the time recorded. A thorough warm up should be given, including some practice starts and accelerations. Start from a comfortable stationary 3-point stance position, a position that is most familiar to you and that you think will yield the best time. The front foot must be on or behind the starting line. This starting position should be held for 3 seconds prior to starting, you may lean across the starting line, and no rocking movements are allowed. The tester should provide hints to maximizing speed and encouragement to continue running hard past the finish line. See video examples of the Sprint Tests.

40 yard Sprint Scores (general guidelines)
College Footballers 4.6 - 4.9 secs
High School Footballers 4.9 - 5.6 secs
Recreational College athletes (male) ~5.0 secs
Recreational College athletes (female) ~5.8 secs

results: Two trials are allowed, and the best time is recorded to the nearest 2 decimal places. The timing starts from the first movement (if using a stopwatch) or when the timing system is triggered, and finishes when the chest crosses the finish line and/or the finishing timing gate is triggered. See some 40 yard sprint test results.

target population: football and other sports in which speed over that distance is important

reliability: Reliability is greatly improved if timing gates are used. Also weather conditions and the running surface can affect the results, and these conditions should be recorded with the results. If possible, set up the track with a crosswind to minimize the effect of wind.

notes: 40 yards is 36.58 meters.

What is a good 40

40 Yard Dash.

How fast can the average person run a 40

According to a five-year NFL combine report, wide receivers and cornerbacks had the fastest average times at 4.48, followed by running backs at 4.49. The following average times were measured between 2000 and 2012 at the NFL combine for players who played at least 5 games.

Is a 4.62 40

What people tend to forget is that a 40-yard dash time of 4.5 or even 4.6 seconds is blistering fast. "If you have a kid that runs a legit 4.5 then he's plenty fast enough to play Division I football," the coach from the SEC said. "That's still a very fast time - even for running backs."
