2012 ct200 vs 2013 matrix reddit

I know the OP already made his purchase, but here's my view. I'm driving a brand new Nov 2019 CT200h F Sport. Bought on a 3.5 year Lexus finance deal in the UK, costs me £279 per month. I test drove the new Corolla as for me I wanted either car. The Corolla blows the CT away in terms of mpg. I got 55mpg on a rather speedy test drive. My CT gets between 39 and 43 mpg which I think is pretty poor for a hybrid. The CT is based on the old Toyota Avensis which has now been replaced by the Corolla. Hopefully if they make a new CT they will use the newer and better hybrid technology the Corolla has. I personally found the Corolla to feel a bit dead to drive, it was dull and lifeless for me, although it was really smooth. The CT feels more alive, but on usual roads can be bumpy as the suspension is a bit harsh especially on 17 inch rims with the stock Yokohama's.

I personally really like the look of the new CT, in a car park I often think there aren't many cars that look better. The price comparison between the 2 new, wasn't much different as Toyota did not offer any finance discount on the Corolla, probably because it's new and they didn't need to. Lexus only have a 3 year warranty and Toyota is better with 5, but on a 3.5 year PCP lease I was okay with it. Personally if you can manage it, I'd always buy new now. With the servicing plan at a cost of £25 month, you don't have any hidden unexpected bills that you get with a used car. So that's an equivalent of around $380 per month. Once you work out finance on an older car, then add in your likely repair and servicing costs, I think new makes a lot more sense.
