Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Walkthrough
The Lost himself is a reasonably powerful wizard, but he's a human-sized opponent and can be interrupted or stunned more or less at will. Grind him down slowly with whichever characters are still on their feet. Upon his defeat, the Lost drops the Staff of the Lost and a Magister's Cinch, two great pieces of mage gear, and you can start a new quest, Golem's Might, by looting the inferno golem.
Head down the next tunnel and sever the chains in the corners of the room to complete Legion of the Lost. You can now talk Sigrun into joining the Grey Wardens, making her a permanent member of your crew.
Side Quest: The Long-Buried Past
There's a chest by the side of the path in the Chasm in Knotwood Hills. Inside, you'll find a gift for Oghren and a Note that starts this quest. Visit the Chantry in Amaranthine and read the Records in a bookcase by the altar, then go looking in the shantytown outside the city gate for Packed Earth. You can dig up a Ring of Subtlety.
Side Quest: Lucky Charms
There's a Bag on the ground south of the Chasm, after you cross the Rickety Bridge. It contains Micah's Lucky Deer Foot, which you can return to him and Colbert in Amaranthine for some experience points.
Quest: Bombs Away!
Take the lyrium sand from the Lyrium-Infused Skeleton in the slums of Kal'Hirol. After you defeat the broodmother, you can bring it to the bomb-happy dwarf Dworkin in Vigil's Keep in exchange for grenades. The less careful you encourage him to be, the more powerful the explosives are. You cannot turn this quest in until you've defeated the Lost.
Quest: Memories of the Stone
In Kal'Hirol's Trade Quarter, near Dailan's skeleton (Partha shield; Broken Sword), you'll find the Stone Marker. Take it back to Vigil's Keep and give it to Dworkin after you've defeated the broodmothers, in exchange for some experience points and influencing the events of the game's ending. You cannot turn this quest in until you've defeated the Lost.
Side Quest: Golem's Might
When you defeat the inferno golem, you can find the Inferno Golem Shell on its body. Not only will this be put on display in your throne room as a trophy, but you can take it to Wade in Vigil's Keep and he'll make it into armor. He'll need some ingredients, though, which are scattered throughout the world.
Pure Iron
Pure Iron is sold by Glassric in the marketplace in Amaranthine.
Blood Lotus
Blood Lotus grows wild in the Wending Wood. You may have found one already during the prologue.
Wool Padding
Wool Padding is in an unlocked chest in the Amaranthine Commons.
The final ingredient, a Master Lyrium Potion, has to be crafted by an herbalist. The recipe can be found in the Deep Crypt in Vigil Keep's Basement, in a sarcophagus, and to open the Deep Crypt, you must complete What Lies Beneath (see below). Bring all four ingredients to Wade and he'll make you a set of Golem Shell Armor, a powerful chestplate with significant fire resistance.
Side Questing in Amaranthine Law and Order
Head to The Crown and Lion and convince the barkeep to open the passage. Go back to the Suspicious Character to receive the Smuggler’s Key then enter the cove. As you enter be sure to check the toy box for the Toy Chario t then continue until you are attacked by numerous Thieves. Defeat them and check the chest and pile of books for the Dispel Trap Plans and the crate in the corner contains Locksmith’s Tools . Speak with the Smuggler Leader to receive 15 sovereigns and an update to the quest.
Head out to the city and go to the Battlements up top. Fight the City Guard and the Sergeants until one drops the Guardhouse Key . At the north end of the city you will find the door to the Guardhouse so unlock the door and get to the roof. Kill the Lieutenant and his men then loot him for the Cell Key . Check the two chests then head to the cage in the back. Here you can free Jacen who is a master archer and have him aid you at Vigil’s Keep. Return to the Smuggler Leader to receive your reward of 20 sovereigns and the Landsmeet Shield.
