Jul 23, 2008 With regard to the trim level. Special Edition? Special Edition Luxury? Special Edition Sport? Just curious Joined Oct 27, 2003 · 20,491 Posts
I dont think Ford ever made any definitions for that nomenclature. In regard to the Gen 4: LX is uber-base, SE is base, SES is standard, decently equipped, SEL is upper trim, "luxury". Joined Oct 31, 2003 · 10,022 Posts

Then Daniel, explain the SES Sport?? :dunno: [/b] Yeah, I remember laughing at that when the SES Sport came out. My guess it's the same reason that people say things like "TPS Sensor"... because, on the whole, people are idiots.

LX is the mega base? I always thought LX meant Luxury? idk, as far as I know for the G2 its L = Base For Gen 1, 2 and first half of 3 LX was the top of the line luxury model. The second half of Gen 3 and all years of Gen 4
it was the bare bones model. And from what I see, the gen 3 G was just a GL minus the trunk release button :werd:
