How to use a VPN to stream Starz in Australia
The good news is that Starz has a free seven-day trial, but the slightly more challenging news is that the US streaming service will block you streaming if you connect from an Australian IP address. That means you’re going to need a virtual private network (VPN) like NordVPN or PrivadoVPN and connect to a US server. After that, head to the Starz website, then sign up for your seven-day trial by entering your email address.
Unfortunately, the trial requires you to enter some payment details, so be sure to set a calendar reminder to cancel after seven days if you don’t want to be charged. Select a monthly or quarterly subscription, then enter credit card or PayPal details. You might hit a wall here, as geoblocked US services tend to do a cursory blocking of potential Australian sign-ups based on where your credit card or PayPal account is based. You can get around this with a US credit card (virtual or physical) or US PayPal account, but that’s a bit finnicky.
The slightly less complicated way works on Android devices. On an Android device, google ‘Starz APK’ then download and install the Starz app from a reputable APK website. Next use NordVPN, PrivadoVPN or another Android VPN app to connect to a US server. Once connected, open the Starz app and follow the sign-up steps, opting to pay via Google Play, which should allow you to use Australian payment details.
As with anything that bypasses geoblocking steps, you run the risk of having your account cancelled or blocked. If that doesn’t bother you, you should now be able to stream Starz easily from your Android device, a web browser, or any other compatible device that lets you use a VPN.
