Samsung note 10 cant hear calls

If you're having trouble hearing the person on the other end of your phone call, there are a few things to check on your phone that might help. Select from the drop downs below for steps on each of the following options:

Please Note: This guide is created for Australian variant devices, if you have an international device and require further support click here to get in touch with your Samsung subsidiary. Make sure nothing is covering the speaker at the top of the front of your device. A poorly placed screen protector is one of the most common causes of low volume during calls.

2 Restart your device and boot into Safe Mode

3 Check with your Network Provider

Contact your service provider to check the network stability or if there have been any network interruptions in your area.

  ○ If your service provider confirms that there is currently an issue, you may need to wait until your service provider resolves the current network problems.

If your service provider confirms that there are no current issues with the service, proceed to the next step.

4 Check the microphone and receiver of your device

Open Voice Recorder and record your voice. Check out our guide Using the Voice Recorder app for more information. Playback the recording to see if you can hear yourself. If you can hear yourself, it is likely that there is an issue with the other end of the voice call or your service provider. If you cannot hear yourself in the voice recording, please proceed to the next step.

  ○ Check to see if the microphone and receiver is blocked/dirty. If it is blocked or dirty, gently brush it off using a dry toothbrush or a brush. After you have cleaned your device, test your device again to see if there is sound.

If you require further assistance, please consult the user manual from our Manuals & Downloads page or contact our Samsung Care Australia experts on 1300 362 603 (Toll Free in Australia). You can also contact our Chat Support team or reach us through Samsung Members Community

Certain downloaded apps can make your phone or tablet freeze, crash, or lag. Some apps can even affect camera functionality, cause audio issues, and affect network connectivity.

Using Safe mode disables all downloaded apps and loads only the original software that came with your phone or tablet, allowing you to determine if the issue is caused by an app or with the phone or tablet.

If the issues do not appear while in Safe mode, the problem is caused by a downloaded app, and that app should be uninstalled.

Step 1. Swipe down with two fingers from the top of the screen to open Quick settings. Tap the Power icon at the top of the screen.

Step 2. Touch and hold Power off until the Safe mode icon is displayed.

Step 3. Tap Safe mode to start your device in Safe mode. If you've entered Safe mode successfully, you'll see Safe mode displayed at the bottom of the screen.

My Galaxy S10+ plus has suddenly developed an issue. I cannot hear any part of phone calls unless I am on speakerphone. That includes the dial tone,  ringing, answering or the callers voice. On speakerphone I can hear everything. This happens whether I am making or receiving calls.  I tried resetting the phone preferences,  force stopping, rebooting after each of the aforementioned.no luck with any of those.

You could potentially have a hardware issue. You can check that on this app with a diagnostic check.. but often it's as simple as you recently downloaded an app that has microphone permissions and has blocked access to that function of your phone
