Not purchase, but you can find them. Go here: //jeanropke.github.io/RDOMap/. In the menu, hit hide all, then scroll down to random encounters, open that menu, and select treasure hunter and treasure map on tree to see all the potential locations.
Treasure locations are on this map. On the side menu, change the drop down to view the area they are in.
Since there are multiple spots inside one treasure location, it would be impossible for the map to know specifically which one is randomly chosen.
Perhaps a list of possible places inside one location could be suggested.
You get them as level up prizes every 5 levels.
You can get them as rare loot from looting dead baddies, its pretty rare but not super rare? its not reliable tho.
There are random events where you can buy treasure maps (or rob the person either way) but again those aren't common or reliable.
Theres also sometimes treasure maps nailed to trees. So if you see a large tree with lantern light, check it out, might be a map nailed to it. Again not reliable.
To my knowledge theres no real way to up your chances of any of that, treasure maps are largely random bonuses aside from the level up ones. If i'm wrong i'd be happy to be corrected.
You get one every five ranks starting at rank 10. Loot every body you create or find; some give up treasure maps. When you're out and about, watch for trees with a lantern on the ground beside them; some have a treasure map pinned to them with a knife (obviously easier to notice at night). Every once in a while, one of those pulsing white dots on the map will be a guy selling a treasure map. That's all I can think of at the moment.
There are six ways I know of getting a Treasure Map (three are random chance though). Might be more ways, but these are the methods I've had happen to me or heard about.
1. Getting a map mailed to you for reaching a rank ending in 5 or 0 (except rank 5)
2. The current Outlaw Pass has a few in its rewards
3. Looting from a dead NPC
4. Finding one stuck to a tree with a lantern at its base (I've never seen one this way)
5. Coming across a Treasure
Hunter stranger and either buying or spooking them into giving you the map
6. Getting to the 28th day of the daily tasks streak (not likely to be the case here unfortunately)

I have way to many treasure maps, but don’t know the general areas for each map. Was wondering if there is a map with all the names of the different maps so I can reference where the closet map I may have is, relative to my location. Anyone know of anything like this? Thanks in advance pardner.

inspect them all - this way you will learn the map and what the places are called , which will help you with other stuff eg. because you know a more efficient rout to deliver to that location than the gpss‘ without looking on the mao
level 2
I agree - it's worth learning them for their locations, cos before you know it, you'll have more way more!
I learned where Black Bone Forest was yesterday :-p

Consult the Jeanropke map. The man is our personal jesus.
level 1
Open them abcd they will mark location on map and if your using controller then it vibrates when your close.
level 2
What do you mean by abcd? Can’t I only have one map open at any given time?
level 1
Awesome. Wasn’t sure if that map was only for the Collector role.
level 2
Treasure maps are an entirely different thing from collector maps. And unlike collector maps your teammates can't collect from the locations they highlight as the chest is instanced.
level 1
So does that mean there is no where to find the locations of the different treasure maps that are given for leveling up?
Never really bothered doing the treasure maps other than maybe 2 per character. (play on all platforms).
Going to use them next gunslinger pass and grind on through them to help level and finally check what's the payout. This is very interesting to see. Always thought it'd be something between .20 ish nuggets up to a gold bar maximum.
