Get Started With Mobile Banking

Deposit checks, pay bills and send and receive money directly from your mobile device. First, we’ll show you how to get started. Learn how to find your username and Access Number, and how to update your address.

Signing In

Set Your Username

  1. Sign in to the mobile app.
  2. Select More from the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Select Profile & Settings.
  4. Select Username in the Profile section.
  5. Enter your new username in the text field. It must contain between 8 and 32 characters, at least one number and letter, and cannot contain any blank spaces.
  6. Select Submit Username.

Before entering your new username, select View All Username Requirements to make sure your new credentials are as secure as possible.

Find Your Username

  1. Open the mobile app.
  2. Select SIGN IN HELP and tap Continue.
  3. Choose how you want to search for your username. You can use either your debit or credit card number or your savings account number.
  4. Enter your date of birth and Social Security Number, then select Continue.
  5. Your username is at the top of the screen with a link for you to sign in.

Reset Your Password

  1. Open the mobile app.
  2. Select SIGN IN HELP and tap Continue.
  3. To verify your identity, select either the account number or the debit or credit card number associated with your account. 
  4. Fill out your date of birth and Social Security Number, then tap Continue.
  5. Select how you want to receive your security code. We can send a text, a push notification or an email. Select Send.
  6. Check your text, notification or email to find the security code. Enter the code in the box and press Submit.
  7. Enter a new password. Make sure that it contains between 8 and 32 characters, at least one number, at least one capital letter, at least one special character and no blank spaces.
  8. Fill out the new password again to confirm that it matches and select Submit Password.

Before entering your new password, select View All Password Requirements to make sure your new credentials are as secure as possible. Once you successfully change your password, there will be a confirmation banner at the top of the Sign In page.

Set Up 2-Step Verification

  1. Sign in to the mobile app.
  2. Select More from the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Select Profile & Settings in the upper left, then Sign In Preferences.
  4. Press 2-Step Verification then slide the toggle to the right so that the bar turns blue.
  5. Choose your preferred method (text, push notification or email) then tap Send.
  6. Check your text messages, notifications or email for the NFCU security code.
  7. Back in the Navy Federal app, enter the security code and tap Submit.
  8. When prompted, tap Remember Device for a faster and more secure sign-in.

Profile & Settings

Find Your Access Number

  1. Sign in to the mobile app.
  2. Select More from the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Select Profile & Settings.
  4. View your Access Number along with other personal information.

Set Up Personalized Notifications

  1. Sign in to the mobile app.
  2. Select More from the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Select Notification Settings. From here you can toggle between Accounts, Cards or Security notifications.
  4. Select the account you'd like to personalize. On the next screen, you can choose from a list of notification types and customize the balance threshold.
  5. Select the corresponding icons to choose if you'd like to receive push, text or email notifications.
  6. To enroll in text notifications, enter the mobile number you'd like to use and hit Save. You can choose to send the initial enrollment text now or later.
  7. Once you've finished setup, press Save. You'll receive a confirmation that your preferences have been updated.

Update Your Address

  1. Sign in to the mobile app.
  2. Select More from the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Select Profile & Settings.
  4. Select Address in the Profile section of the screen.
  5. Select Address Type and fill in the rest of your address information.
  6. Confirm your information and select Update Address.

Find Your Account & Routing Numbers

  1. Sign in to the mobile app.
  2. On the Accounts screen, select the Checking or Savings account you'd like to access.
  3. Under your account balance, select Show More Details. This section will expand to show additional information, including your Routing Number.
  4. To see your full account number, select Show on the right.

Find Your Nearest Branch

  1. Open the mobile app.
  2. Select ATM/BRANCH on the Sign In page.
  3. Select a nearby ATM or branch from those listed to see specific information and get directions.
  4. Tap Get Directions from the ATM or branch selected to view a map with step-by-step instructions.

View Your Account Statements

  1. Sign in to the mobile app.
  2. Select the account for the statement you’d like to view.
  3. View your statement by selecting Statements or Statement as of (date).

Manage Your Email and Phone Number

  1. Sign in to the mobile app.
  2. Select More from the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Select Profile & Settings and then select Email or Phone.
  4. Enter your current email address, add a new phone number or update an existing phone number, then select Save.

Transactions

Add an Account & Make a Transfer

  1. Sign in to the mobile app.
  2. To add transfer account information, tap Transfers in the bottom navigation bar, then select View/Add Accounts.
  3. Tap the plus sign in the upper right corner, choose the account type, enter the required information, and tap Continue.
  4. Review the information, and if everything on the screen is correct, select Add Account.
  5. To transfer, use the bottom navigation bar to go to the Transfer screen and select Make Transfer.
  6. Select the transferring and receiving accounts and enter the amount and the date, then select Continue.
  7. Review your information and then select Make Transfer.

Transfers and bill pay tools require access to contacts on your phone. This setting must be toggled on in your phone or device settings.

Renew Your Certificate

  1. Sign in to the mobile app.
  2. In the Certificate section of your Account Summary, select the certificate you'd like to update.
  3. Select Manage Maturity on the right, then press Get Started.
  4. Choose your desired renewal or cash-out option, then tap Continue.
  5. If renewing, choose the type of certificate you'd like, review and press Submit.

Order Cashier's Checks

  1. Sign in to the mobile app.
  2. Tap More in the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Select Send Money, then select Request a Cashier's Check. Select your template and hit Continue.
  4. Enter payment information and press Continue.
  5. Select your preferred shipping option and delivery address and select Continue.
  6. Review your information and select Submit.

Get Started With Zelle®

  1. Sign in to the mobile app.
  2. Select More from the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Select Send Money, then Send Money with Zelle.
  4. Press Get Started at the bottom of the screen.
  5. To send money, select Send Money then select Add New Contact and enter your contact's information. Select Save.
  6. Review the information in the pop-up and press Next.
  7. Enter the amount of money, date and account you'd like to send money from. Select Review.
  8. Review the information, and if everything looks good, hit Send.

Managing Your Card

Change Your Debit Card PIN

  1. Sign in to the mobile app.
  2. Select your checking account.
  3. Select Manage Card.
  4. Select Change PIN from the Maintenance menu.
  5. Enter and verify your new PIN, then select Continue.
  6. Verify your card information and select Submit.
  7. Confirm your card information, then select Done.

Card on File: Manage Your Recurring Payments

  1. Sign in to the mobile app.
  2. Select a debit or credit card account.
  3. Tap Manage Card.
  4. Tap Card on File (listed under Online Payments & Subscriptions).

Increase Your Line of Credit

  1. Sign in to the mobile app.
  2. In the Loans and Credit section, choose the credit card account you’d like to request an increase for and select Manage Card.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Increase Credit Limit.
  4. Review your contact information to ensure it’s accurate and select Continue.
  5. Enter the credit limit amount you’d like to request and select Continue.
  6. Fill in the Primary Application Information and then select Continue.
  7. Review your application and then select Submit and Done.

After your request is submitted, you’ll receive a decision for your request in 24 hours.

Do credit cards have account numbers?

How Does a Credit Card Account Number work? The first 6 digits of the number are the Bank Identification Number, identifying the issuing bank. The last digit is a check-digit, used to detect errors. The remaining 9 digits represent the account number assigned to the cardholder.

What is the account number on Navy Federal?

The Navy Fed account number is 10 digits long while the routing number is 9 digits. Is the access number and account number the same? Your Navy Federal access number is not the same as an account number. It is a unique member identifier assigned when creating your accounts.

How can I find my credit card number online?

Online banking steps: Choose the account associated with the card you'd like to view. Under the account name you will have three options, select Cards. Select the card to see the card details. Underneath the image of the card simply select Show card number to view the card number, expiration date, and CVV code.
