Retailer:Costco
I was just over at the Edmonton South Costco liquor store and noticed that they had the Johnnie Walker Blue Label priced at $399.99 for the magnum size (1.75L). I thought it was a great deal considering a regular bottle usually costs about $250 and up. Had 16 bottles left at that location after I bought mine.
They also had the Johnnie Walker Ghost and Rare Glenury Royal priced at $349.99, which is considerably cheaper than most places that have it at ~$550. 6 bottles remaining after I bought mine.
This deal might not be for everyone, but definitely cheaper than anywhere else you could probably get it. Should be available at all Costco Liquor store locations. They are saying they may or may not get in another shipment before Christmas.
*Edit* Forgot to mention that they also had the 4x200mL Johnnie Walker Sampler Pack (Johnnie Walker Black Label, Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve, Johnnie Walker Platinum and Johnnie Walker Blue Label) for $79.99. This usually retails at around ~$100

Always kills me seeing booze deals at non-liquor stores outside of Ontario. [...]

Yup! In Ontario these would be gone! Especially if in Brampton.
Only issue with blue label is, it's so smooth, you don't feel much and need to drink more.

This is quite hot, by my math, at retail prices for those four bottles on a $/ml, its about ~130 of value.

Aha! This is probably the Christmas special at the Costco Liquor stores in Alberta. Did you happen to notice if they had anything else out of the ordinary? For instance - they had a really good deal on Highland Park 21 a couple of years ago

Need someone to arrange to ship me bottles from Alberta. I cry when I buy at LCBO since pre Covid most of my single malt purchases were duty free or from the US

If only alcohol could be purchased at grocery stores here in BC, and in Costco especially, I'd jump on this. Upvoted for price

The grocery stores do sell in BC just like in AB. Compare the chain Sobeys/Safeway/Thrifty's Liquorstore flyers between AB and BC and you'll notice the prices wouldn't be the same anyways, not to mention the taxes (ie. 5% in AB vs 15% in BC). For example, currently a 1.14L Glenlivet 12yo sells for 63$ (60$+tax) all in at Sobeys in AB; meanwhile the BC flyer is selling the lower quality 1.14L Glenlivet Founders for 94$ all in (82$+tax)

Any skew number for the magnum?

If it wasn't because of COVID... would fly to Alberta just to pick up a couple of bottles and make a small trip out of it.

I don't mean wine. If Costco does sell alcohol like beer, spirits, etc here in BC, I'd be pleased. I'd think the size portion in Costco would be bigger and better value than say any other liquor stores here even with the tax.

Uh oh. This thread just took a sharp turn in the wrong direction. Can't we all just enjoy a great booze thread?
