Can't seem to figure out how to unlock them. Just started playing again because witch queen. I'm 1263. I'm doing Hawkmoon quest and need to farm champions and seems like legendary lost sectors is good for that. I can't unlock them though. One of today's is apparently empty tank on tangled shore. I've gone and completed it normally and still no flag outside

You have to run through the normal lost sector first…recommended level is 1320 for them though. I just came back from a break and have been under leveled as well. I did astral alignment for the champions part. Took like 3 clears, just make sure you tag every champion.

I think you need to hit soft cap + clear the lost section on normal.

Run Dares of Eternity or Astral Alignment. I had some “kill champions” quest step and assists counted as kills for that particular quest at least, so just spray everything that moves with a few bullets. :)
So am going to be doing lost sectors and i looked into how to get the legendary ones unlocked, some people say you need dlc's some say you need to be higher level and some say you've to do them all. whats the right way as i am a free to play player atm

For Ghosts who make their own luck.
DLC is only required for certain exotics to drop.
The only conditions are unlocking the patrol areas with the lost sectors and completing the normal version of the lost sector. Note, there is a bug with the Nessus sector and you might need to complete ALL the Nessus lost sectors at least once (or at least "visit" them).
You might also need to be a minimum light level for Legend and Master to show up (it's a good idea anyway to be high enough so running them isn't super difficult).

tysm, ave been told by others you need dlc or a diff light level. So i just need to do all the normal sectors to unlock the legendary?

If you have access to one that is on the legendary rotation for today, do it normally and then you can do it “legendary” afterwards

Everyone can do every LS. You don't need to own any DLC. The expansions you own just determines your loot pool.
To unlock a LS you must be above the soft cap, then clear it once normally.

You need to be atleast 20 Power under i think (so about 1550(1570 is recomendet)) or its another lost sector today.

when a legend lost sector is active, you have to interact with the flag somewhere around the entrance of the lost sector. I remember when I tried doing one the first time and I just ran it normally skdhkdjd. Good luck on your first one !
