How to Activate eSIM?
Now convert your existing physical SIM to eSIM or transfer your Jio eSIM from one device to another via SMS.
- Step by Step guide
Step 1: Raise eSIM activation request
SMS 'GETESIM<32 Digit EID><15 Digit IMEI>' to 199 from the device with an active Jio SIM. If your email ID is not updated, you'll get a reply asking to update it for reinitiating the process.
Step 2: Share eSIM number for eSIM processing
Type SIMCHG <19-digit eSIM number> and send the SMS to 199. After two hours, you will receive an update on eSIM processing.
Step 3: Confirm and activate eSIM
SMS ‘1’ to 183 to request an automated call from +91 2235072222. Press '1' on the call to confirm. After that, install 'Data plan' on your device to activate eSIM following the below steps.
Configure your device and get started
Select your device to complete profile configuration.
Key points to remember while activating Jio eSIM
Before you proceed to configure your phone, make sure your phone is connected to a mobile network or Wi-Fi.
Do not select the ‘Remove Data Plan’ or ‘Erase Plan’ option in device settings, as it will permanently delete the eSIM profile.
If it gets removed unknowingly or accidentally, visit your nearest Jio Store, Reliance Digital, or Jio retailer with Proof of Identity and a photograph for the SIM swap process.
The Activation Code is unique and is applicable for just one-time use on only one device.

To complete the activation process, eSIM profile needs to be configured on your smart phone. Please refer the SMS sent to you with activation code & ensure that your Phone is connected with Wi-Fi network during this process.
