G pro x superlight vs Razer Viper Ultimate Reddit

I sold the GPX and kept the RVU. GPX is no doubt fantastic but wasn't for me.

The sides of RVU are a little more aggressive and I really dig a nice side grip. GPX is slightly taller and more round, filling out my hand in a way that wasn't really doing it for me. In fact it legitimately ached and caused discomfort. Hand/wrist pains are nothing to mess with so even though I gamed really well with it I had to part ways.

Oh, also the RVU just offered me a lot more from the user experience. Lower price, optical switches (I actually really enjoy the clicks), charging dock, and equally bloated but much more usable software (setting GPX to 1600 dpi and keeping it there was a freakin nightmare, and needlessly so). On paper, it is just full stop a better product.

Keep in mind this is a minority opinion for sure. Probably 1:5 favoring GPX around these parts (I didn't run any numbers this is a huge ballpark guess).

I'll be referring to the Viper Ultimate as RVU and referring to the G Pro X as GPX

I've been using the RVU for the past month now. I switched from a Zowie S2.

Razer Viper Ultimate:

On the first day of using it. My aim never felt better. I was hitting shots, due to lack of cable and lighter weight. Normally I use the Zowie S2 with Mouse bungee and sometimes the cable gets stuck. But with the RVU I don't have to worry about it. The shape doesn't take long to get use to. I normally play a relaxed Claw grip anyways so it was very to get use to. I really really like the shape. I have used many mice in the past. I have used the G Pro, Model O, Model D, Finalmouse UL2, Viper mini, G wolve skoll. The shape of RZU for me felt the best + also wireless ofc.

G Pro X:

I have been using this mosue for about 3 weeks now. On the first day it felt really weird to use a g pro again but at the same time it was much lighter than my RZU. So I tested my scores on Kovaaks and suprisingly my scores were better with the G Pro X. (7-9% increase). Tho it still felt like I was aiming much worse with the g pro x. But clearly the score from kovaaks says something else. So I kept playing with the g pro for a while and after a day or two I fell in love with the G Pro X. Till this day im using the G Pro X.

Conclusion : If you have the money and want an edge buy the G Pro Wireless. If you are a competitive gamer who prefers good shape over weight buy the Razer Viper ultimate. + You get a charging dock :).

The Viper ultimate often goes on sale alot.

EDIT: I main the RZU now. Feels way more comfortable for me.

I've been using a Razer Deathadder essential for about 3 years now and Im looking for an upgrade, been looking at both these mice for a bout a month and a half and I just cant decide, I was in the beginning going for the G Pro but now I can get the viper ultimate for cheaper so im back to not knowing what to do again, which one do you guys recomend? The weight difference between the two wont be a huge deal for me since ive been using a 96g mouse for a long time now lmao so itll feel like a breeze either way. Might be relevant: I play a lot of competitive games like csgo and rainbow six siege so latency and speed is key ^^ Thanks in advance!

Both feature top sensors. Very different shapes. You're correct with Logi using mech switches while Razer using opticals. No discernible difference in regards to travel distance. Definitely a difference in click feel though, atleast to me. Both suffer from QC issues. Any mechanical switch can fail and cause double clicking, but not as common with GPX.

I can't recommend either at the full price, get them on sale only. Start with determining your hand size and go from there. From the sounds of things, Razer is releasing something new next month so if you can wait, I'd wait to see what it'll be.

I was able to try out both at a store and liked the shape and weight of both.

Ultimately my decision came down to which one I could get cheaper so I ended on the RVU and I'm very happy with it so far (couple of days).

But my previous mouse was a chonky >100g Kone that just wasn't suited well for me, either of them would be a massive improvement. Which mouse are you coming from?

Hi everyone,

My model o- just broke and I was stuck between the GPX and RVU, which one would you guys recommend? I don't really mind the price difference but how about the shape? Would switching from a model o- to any of these be too big? Thanks in advance!

PS: My hand measurements are around 19x11.

Viper Mini Wireless Waiting Room

Shape: RVU Considering you’re also coming from a Model O-, you’ll find uncomfortable the non flat GPX but also depends on your grip.

I’m still choosing between them and I have almost your same hand size but from a fingertip I’d choose RVU.

Ah okay I see, well I usually claw grip so my hands would probably be too small?

viper is wider, gpro is taller, take your pick

GPW/RVU/G303OG/A3W/MDW/G305/XLV2/MM731 - 18.5x10 cm

For claw, definitely the GPX is better. The RVU has no lower palm support for me, it keeps slipping out of my hand. At least that's what I think.

What is better G Pro X Superlight or the Viper ULT?

But, the Razer Viper Ultimate is hot on its heels in almost every way. As you can see above, it outperforms the G Pro X Superlight in areas like switch performance and aesthetic options, and ties it across several other contests.

Why is G Pro Superlight so popular?

It offers amazing performance, whether used wired or wirelessly, with exceptionally low click latency, and its CPI can be customized precisely by increments of 50. It's suitable for all hand sizes with any grip type, although the side buttons may be hard to reach with a fingertip grip if you have small hands.
