If it’s any consolation this stuff leaves an awful aftertaste, I’d much rather use 1/3 less fat!

Walmart sells their own brand of fat free cream cheese aka great value brand, same thing for cottagecheese

Never seems to be in stock near me 😤

YMMV but I'm not picky and thought this had no flavor. 😕. Wish it was better for the calorie difference.
level 2
i agree it has no flavor
i go for 1/3 fat or whipped depending what i’m using it for

Try looking for a store brand or get the whipped kind. I discovered whipped has less fat than the less fat cream cheese.
Edit: okay so less fat isn't fat free 🤦♀️ but now you know about whipped cream cheese 😄

You can strain Greek yogurt using cheesecloth and make “yogurt cheese” which would be low or no fat depending on the yogurt you used and probably taste better.

I miss this stuff, too :) Someone already mentioned Walmart, I think Harris Teeter (Kroger subsidiary) may still have it.

An alternative to cream cheese I’ve recently started using is laughing cow cheese 🐮🧀 the wedges are tiny but they have nice flavor and decent macros (50 calories, 4g fat, 1g carb, 2g protein)!

I would imagine Neufchatel would work the same way.

Walmart used to carry it, but I haven’t been able to find it there anymore either! Why does no one seem to make far free cream cheese anymore? It was so useful in recipes
