We love our split-king adjustable bed DM9000. We purchased the recommended dynasty mattress with it. We don't really use the sound system because we already had a sound system. We tested it and it sounds pretty good but how much sound can you really get from underneath a bed with a 15" mattress on top.
The adjustable movement is quiet but slow and we don't really use the lumbar support much.
We have some minor problems which some are specific to our configuration.
Most of the USB ports on the sides are completely useless in a Split-king configuration. The ports are in the middle on the sides, so if the beds are placed side by side there is really no way to even plug anything into them in the center. They also started to rub and grind against each other as the beds were adjusted differently. In our configuration, the bed fits directly inside an enclosed bed frame that has a head and foot board along with side boards, so we cant really use the USB ports on the outside of the bad either unless we extend the feet and raise the bed higher. We have chosen not to raise the bed higher as the mattress is almost 15 inches, so the bed already sits up very high. We of course change the adjustment on the bed when sleeping or watching TV, or reading and both of us like different positions for different times. So the beds are adjusted several times during the day and night. We finally decided to remove the USB ports all together as they were causing to many problems when the beds were being adjusted. Since the split king is really just 2 separate XL twins, the USB ports would make since if they were used as XL twins independently. We had to leave the USB ports attached under the bad as some of the other electronics did not work if the USB ports were completely detached. At this point the USB ports are simply hanging down under the bed until we can find a place to attach them that is accessible, otherwise we will just roll them up and attach them under the frame somewhere so they are hidden.
Another complaint is that the beds are equipped with a large pad of what the company calls micro-hooking, which is fantastic for keeping the mattresses from moving apart. This was a major problem with the last adjustable bed we had from Legett and Platt The problem is that they didn't put the micro-hooking pads on the head end portion, so the mattresses still tend to move apart at the head.
The feet of the bed are very wide (amost 3 inches wide and 8 inches in diameter). The height is fairly easy to adjust except for the fact that the beds are extremely heavy especially with the mattresses on them. The wide feet are great for stability but our bed sits on a flat flooring surface and it tends to move around a bit. The company does not directly sell rubber/silicone non-slip feet accessories to keep the bed from moving around. Nor do they sell more micro-hook padding the add to the head end of the bed.
We contacted the company about the micro-hook type padding and the rubber/silicone non-slip feet. They said we could purchase both of these on amazon. They replied in email with a link to a general search on Amazon for those items, not a specific item on Amazon that would fit their bed. So far we have not been able to find the same kind of micro-hook type padding that came on the bad originally. Plus the original seems to be sewn into the bottom of the bed, which of course we could not do at this point, so if we did find similar micro-hook type padding it would have to have a very strong adhesive to keep it in place. Personally i don't think any adhesive would keep it in place on clothe. As of yet, we also have not found any non-slip rubber/silicone feet covers the size that fit. If anyone has suggestions for these issues please let us know.
The light under the bed is not very bright and it would be nice if we could change the color and and have it turn on a schedule for the evening. After closer examination of the lights, they appear to be the kind of lights that can have other lights connected to them, such as under cabinet lights. We may try to attach more and we may even try to find some that are a different color so that we get a soothing glow from the bottom at night and maybe used as a sort of night light.
The message features of the bed are nice. We have tested other beds that had better message and some had worse, so all in all its adequate.
The remote for the bed works well but as in other reviews, it would be nice if the light came on with movement so you could see the buttons at night instead of having to just push a random button to turn on the back lighting of the remote. We do use the Bluetooth remote functions from our phones at times, which is handy.
The Dynasty mattress we purchased with the bed is really nice. We both like the comfort of it.
Something to keep in mind is that if you purchase a mattress cover, you will need to get one that the micro-hooking pad will stick to.
Again, we love the bed and most of the features are very nice. We would recommend the bed and believe that it is of good quality. Considering we cannot use some of the features, we probably could have purchased a lower end model. We hope it lasts as long as the last adjustable bed we had for almost 20 years.
