Ice cream
Upper Midwest, United States

Blue moon is an ice cream flavor with bright blue coloring, available in the Upper Midwest of the United States. Multiple cities in the region claim to be the originator, with the popular theories including Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Ludington, Michigan.[1][2] The Chicago Tribune has described the ice cream as "Smurf-blue, marshmallow-sweet". Blue moon ice cream is one of the flavors that make up Superman ice cream in certain states.[1][3]

Blue moon is found mainly in the Midwest—Wisconsin and Michigan in particular.[4] It is found less frequently in other U.S. states. Kilwins also provides this flavor in various states.

Characteristics[edit]

The varieties of blue moon vary in both color and flavor. Many aficionados of each variety of blue moon claim that their variety is the "real one", the "original", etc.[1][3][5]

Some dairies that make Blue Moon keep their ingredients a secret, adding to the mystique.[3] Varieties that have distinct berry or vanilla flavor notes are sometimes theorized to have been originally flavored with castoreum.[3]

Similar international flavors[edit]

A similar flavor has been sold in both Italy and Malta under the name puffo, which is Italian for 'Smurf', as well as in Germany under the names Schlumpf and Engelblau, which translate to 'Smurf' and 'angel blue', respectively.[6]

In France, it is called schtroumpf ('Smurf'), in Slovenia modro nebo ('blue sky'), and in Argentina as crema del cielo ('sky cream').[citation needed]

In Poland, this variety of ice cream is called smerfowe ('Smurf-like') and is usually bubble-gum flavored.[citation needed]

Already wasted the first blue moon ice cream on budew just to get Roselia; now i need an extra for Espur at Wispy Park. How do I get more? I know that the vendor on route 3 can spawn the in the menu when buying, but I don't how to get it to spawn myself. What are the requirements? If this is mostly annoying due to how many have already asked this question, then you can just ignore it.

What is the purpose of Blue Moon Ice Cream in Rejuvenation? Is it just a callback to Reborn, or are there interactions in the game that require you to have it?

I don’t know if it is required for anything in the story, but it maxes out a Pokémon’s friendship, so it can be very useful for friendship based evolutions.

Oh, that's awesome, because I'm having a hell of a time getting my Eevee to evolve into a Sylveon.
