Vineyard Notes
Our 2013 Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from our family’s two vineyards located in the Rutherford sub-appellation of Napa Valley. This Cabernet Sauvignon is derived from both our Abela Estate (50%) and our Franklin Estate vineyards. Both vineyards are sustainably farmed and certified under the CCSW - Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing.
Production Notes
Following in the footsteps of 2012, Napa Valley’s 2013 harvest was one for the books. A warm Spring brought on an early bud break. Consistent sunshine, moderate temperatures (between 80° and 90°F) and the typical cool Napa evenings and morning fog throughout the growing season produced exceptional fruit with intense, bright berry flavors. As a result, our winemaking team is proud to present an Estate Cabernet Sauvignon with delicious dark fruit flavors, and round tannins and a silky smooth finish. This wine is cellar ready - enjoy for the next 15 years.

Rutherford dust typicity, beautiful opaque, dense ruby/purple color, a classic sweet nose of blackcurrants, licorice and sweet oak. Elegant fresh raspberry, blueberry and cherry notes carry through the mid pallet. The wine finishes with long velvety sweet tannin, bitter sweet chocolate and raspberry. Rich, broad and flavorful with good acidity, the wine is accessible, but should age effortlessly for 20 or more years.
Rutherford 2013 vintage began with a warm dry spring. This warm and dry weather pattern persisted throughout the 2013 growing season with the exception of 2 brief mid-September rain events that ultimately had no impact on grape maturation. The result was higher than average yields and optimal grape maturation. Cooler sunny weather through October allowed us to hang our Cabernet Sauvignon on the vine for an extended period of time. These favorable ripening conditions translated to exceptional flavor development and phenomenal wine quality.

Tasting Notes:
A beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon from Bello, the 2013 (a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot aged 22 in 100% new French oak) has an opaque, dense ruby/purple color, a classic sweet nose of sweet blackcurrants, licorice and suite background oak. Rich, broad and flavorful, with sweet tannin, good acidity and a long finish, this is accessible, but should age effortlessly for 20 or more years.
